Your people’s preferences are personal.
Here’s how we treat them.

This notice covers the Prefs coming-soon website and the current, local-only early-access app. Public accounts and cloud backup aren’t available yet. We’ll update this notice and explain your choices before enabling them.

Who we are

Prefs is operated by Poolsuite Company. We’re responsible for personal information we receive through this website and when you contact us. For privacy questions or requests, email hey@prefs.club.

The information in your app

Prefs lets you record names, optional photos, dietary choices, allergies, medical food needs, likes, dislikes, notes and get-togethers. Some of these details can reveal sensitive information about someone’s health or beliefs.

In the current local-only app, this library is stored on your device. Prefs does not send it to Poolsuite Company’s servers. Depending on your Apple settings, it may be included in your device backups, which Apple handles under its own privacy terms.

Only add information you need, and make sure the person is comfortable with you recording or sharing it. Take particular care with children’s information and sensitive details. Avoid putting unrelated medical information in notes.

When you share a card

You choose what to include and where to send it using your device’s sharing options. The receiving person or app gets that copy. Removing or changing the original in Prefs does not remove copies already sent, saved or forwarded.

When you visit this website

This website has no account form, advertising, analytics scripts or tracking cookies. It does not read your Prefs library.

Railway hosts the website and processes technical request information, such as IP addresses, requested pages, timestamps and browser details, to deliver and secure it. We use this information only to operate the site, troubleshoot problems and prevent misuse—not to build advertising profiles. Our legal basis, where UK or European data-protection law applies, is our legitimate interest in providing a secure, working website.

When you get in touch

If you email us, we receive your email address and whatever you include in your message. We use it to reply, provide support and deal with your request. Please don’t send anyone’s dietary or health details unless they’re genuinely needed to resolve your question.

We rely on our legitimate interest in answering enquiries, or on providing the service you’ve asked for. We may also need to keep information to meet legal obligations. We do not add you to a marketing list just because you contact us.

Who receives information

Railway hosts the website. Porkbun forwards messages sent to our contact address to our support inbox. These providers and our email provider process information needed to run those services. We may disclose information where legally required, or where necessary to protect people or the service. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising.

Service providers may process information outside your country. Where the law requires it, appropriate international-transfer safeguards must apply. Contact us for information about the providers and safeguards relevant to your request.

Keeping and removing information

You can edit or delete local cards in the app. We cannot remotely retrieve or delete your local-only library. Your device backups and any copies you share need to be managed separately.

We keep support correspondence only while needed to handle the enquiry, follow up or meet legal obligations. Technical records are kept for operational and security purposes under the hosting provider’s retention settings. We don’t retain these records to track your interests.

Your choices and rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete or obtain a copy of personal information we hold about you, restrict its use, or object to processing based on legitimate interests. These rights can have legal limits. Email hey@prefs.club to make a request; we may need to verify your identity.

You can also complain to your local data-protection authority. In the UK, that is the Information Commissioner’s Office.

Before cloud backup launches

We’re preparing optional accounts with Clerk and cloud storage with Convex. These are not part of the current public service. Before launch, we’ll explain what would leave your device, who processes it, how long it’s kept, and how to withdraw consent or delete it. Signing up will not, by itself, be treated as permission to upload another person’s health or belief information.

Changes to this notice

We’ll keep this page up to date and highlight material changes before introducing new uses of personal information.
